Three new Sudanese-Americans earned degrees from the University of Louisville at the December 2010 graduation ceremony. Joining U of L student Phillip Young, far left, is Abraham Marok, center, (master’s degree in electrical engineering), and Mawut Mach, far right (bachelor’s degree in criminal justice). Christine Natiki Lokiru, below, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is believed to be the first Sudanese woman from this area to earn a college degree.
